Calgary, you look… diferent
Different from early concept renders (first image below), that is. Maybe Motorola was paying attention when the public found the colors cheap and the keyboard lines gimmicky. I dunno, I kinda liked it.
Anyway, BGR’s all over these Motorola Androids headed to VZW. Another post by Boy Genius himself gives us the first glimpse of the second such device. This one is reportedly an economical alternative to the high-powered Droid.
There isn’t any clear info on price or street date just yet, but the word is that Calgary features MotoBlur, 3 MP camera, 3.5mm audio jack, GPS, Wi-Fi, microSD card slot, optical joystick, and obviously, a hardware QWERTY. Looks O.K. for a grid-style layout, but I’m going to side with AndroidGuys and say, “what’s with all the wasted space?” I suppose those are comfortable thumb rests.

LOL @ your hatred of the grid. Screen looks too tiny. And it does look like there is a whole lot of plastic for a lil bit of functioning phone bits.
There’s plenty of room to stagger those keys!!

Doesn’t Look as Good To say the least.

I was actually a fan of the original render myself. The “final” doesn’t look that much different save for the color and keyboard but it sure has that low-end look to it…
