I’m going to mention my source at the beginning of this post rather than at the end, as I usually do, because I’m straight up snagging his layout by wraping my text around that image to the left. So, thank you, Frederic Lardinois from ReadWriteWeb.
Mozilla enthusiasts, Firefox fanatics, and PhoneDog fans already know what that cute and fuzzy – yet vicious – icon is all about:Â it is the brand of Firefox mobile – otherwise known as Fennec. I posted a series of screenshots showcasing the browser’s hidden panel layout over at PhoneDog one year ago today, actually. Check it out. An update post from December that includes shots of Twitter integration can be found here I’ve also embedded some of my screen grabs under the video below that tease the browser’s plugin features.
I’m posting today not because there’s any big news regarding Fennec, but because Fennec’s user experience lead, Madhava Enros, has created a Fennec walk-though video, using a Nokia N810 for the coulrophobic-friendly demonstration. Yeah, it’s seven months old, but RRW was kind enough to remind all of us that Mozilla is not sitting on its collective laurels in regards to the mobile space, and I wanted to pass that reminder on to the DroidDog audience. Speaking of which, you have made Firefox the number one browser for visits to the site every single day since we opened the doors, so I figure this is of interest to you.
We don’t have a release date just yet, but consider this your semi-official call for heads up. Stay tuned…
