Check out this image from BGR that shows Eric Schmidt, CEO of Google, holding on to what looks like a gold-trimmed Hero. Clearly different than the device in the photos we saw just before the official Sprint announcement, but it looks like someone at HTC still has bling on their minds. Once again, I like the gold.
BGR also points out what might be touch-sensitive buttons, and word of a November release.

Are you sure that that is the Hero? I heard Sprint was getting that as an exclusive... honestly it looks more like the HTC Tattoo to me maybe I am wrong though.

The MotoBlurless Moto Sholes/Droid/Tao is rumor to be coming out in late Nov. before BF or early Dec. & it was rumored to be the launcher for Android 2.0... (Was also rumored to be the first 1Ghz Android phone but that turn out to be false.. Although If you combine all the chips it might add up to 1Ghz without being a true 1Ghz phone... But wouldn't it be to soon for Android 2.0 to be release... Just 2 months after 1.6... or would it be a beta Android 2.0??? And if the MotoBlurless Moto Sholes/Droid/Tao does come out with Android 2.0 at ship... Wouldn't the Verizon HTC Hero or whatever flavor HTC phone that will be coming out around the same time as the Tao also come with Android 2.0 when shipped ... Would be odd for two releases on the same carrier with 2 different versions of the same OS... At least from where I'm sitting... On the potential customer chair... By the way... If Verizon would of come out with the Europe style version of the HTC Hero w/ 3G I would probably bought it out of contract while I wait for the HTC Dragon... But no luck... The Version HTC device they showed today seems like a streach out HTC Tattoo... Wonder if today's hoopla was also done as a way to ease the mind of potential VeriDroiz from thinking that Verizon will cripple any phone on their network. Hey, Y314K. I wouldn't be at all surprized if some of the things that VZW said were in response to the general public fear that they would be crippling their Android devices. I'm sure all of the announcements were already planned, but statements like, "Either you have an open phone or you don't" seem rather deliberate. As for the possible mix-match of a Donut/Eclair release, I agree; I don't think they would do that. I don't think it would be too soon for them to release Eclair in early December, as has been speculated, because Donut is basically old news - at least to developers. I'm sure there is a heap of work to be done and compatibility to be implemented before the next big round of Androids get moving. I don't have any special information here, but that's my guess. Which Verizon HTC were you likening to the Tattoo? Maybe I missed it.

Nice... A reverse White Stripes... Scout Niblett is an awesome band.. Now I'm gonna have to put Scout Niblett into my daily rotation... Thanks for the share... Was jamming the weekend with Mum which they also remind me on voice style to Chara ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vfPjAXwdwsw&feature=SeriesPlayList&p=AA8248FC8DC09B8C ) although completely different in style... Ever since IMF(International Music Feed) went off the air for some complete crap arts station... It's been getting harder to find great music from all over... Wish some one would bring IMF back...
Chara has an interesting sound. I like the quirky, stuttering, edits. I don't know IMF. The way I find new stuff is totally random nowadays. It's usually by searching for lyrics that I heard by chance.
The HERO is a great phone and I'm glad to see it on Sprint & Verizon. I think this is the phone that will set the standard for all Android Phones. This phone should be available to everyone on any carrier. Watch out IPhone your days are numbered. The single App Phone is dead and the multitasking Widget phone is taking over!!

I'm from Argentina and will be paying my Iphone 3GS for Many months but if apple doesn't start thinking a bit more in new Iphone staff HTC with android will be my next choise and many other ppl will doing the same. I'm wondering ir any carrier here in Argentina will sell the Hero ... Maybe DroidDog could research information regarding other countries rather than USA, UK and europe (continent) right?? haha...
Having a 3G Hero would be a beautiful thing here in the States. Just funny that they starve us and then all the carriers start picking it up. Seems a 6 monthe exclusivity at initial release is becoming the norm. Whatever though, I want a 3G Hero. I agree too that Black with Gold is just about the only combination I like to make yellow gold look good in my eyes.

Yeah... Seems that comment was a 2fer... Take that ATT & Apple... + Reassuring new, ex & current possible VAndroid customers... Specially those that know how open Android is compare to other Phone OS's... Even with the whole Cyanogate... Hope Verizon understands that this needs to be a constant for their Android devices... No some limited edition feature while they try to lock some of us down for a couple of years... Yeah... Was surprised at first how quickly A1.6 started to roll out... But should not have been... Since following the XDA-Dev's exploits, They had for the most part just about all of A1.6 ported to their Rom's... Hence the whole Cyanogate due specifically to Market 1.6... Guess well know how close they are to a completed 2.0 by what goes into some of the more adventurist Rom Dev's ... Which now makes me wonder how close they are at a finish HTC Dragon... The soft seem to be there... Wonder how big of the hold up the hardware might be... Gonna have to keep myself from getting any of HTC Android devices that come out before the HTC Dragon... Seems there are daily temptations as more info gets leaked or release by HTC... When I first read that the HTC Hero might come out on Verizon I thought... Euro version... Which I actually really liked... But from the blowup picture on your post above.. From that angle & with the highlighted buttons... It reminds me of the HTC Tattoo more then the HTC Hero... I bet is just the angle of the pic... But that was my first thought about it...
