Google Nav is ready for your G1

Well, a hacked version is, anyway. You probably remember when the instructions hit xda-developers, but those were for tinkerers higher up in the geek chain than most of us. These new ones’ll do for your average modder.

Just tonight someone emailed me the file used to update Cyanogen 4.2.3.1 to the latest Google Maps, but I was too busy writing a paper to run through the process. I’m still running ASOP-1.6, after all. Then again, I hardly use the G1 anymore. That’s a topic for another day though. Thankfully, Android Central has written an easy-peasy how-to. Check it out.

you should note that you can only use the .bat programs if you have the system on an ext partition of your sdcard. I have no need for an ext partition since i have a mytouch, so the .bat programs are looking for files in the wrong place.

I wouldn't recommend it.... It screwed up my market. I guess it made my phone think it was a Droid, and since a lot of apps aren't compatible with the Droid it won't show a lot of apps. And it even took my chomp sms away. Install it at your own risk...
