At least one Hero is running Android 2.1. What about you?
A couple of days ago, Engadget posted some leaked screenshots of a Hero running Android 2.1 (shown with altered watermark below). Which, of course, caused a collective sigh of relief for current Hero owners who have been wondering when – if ever – they would see Google Navigation.
But what about the rest of us? Not all of us are desperately in need of Google Nav (though it clearly rocks) but I’m sure I’m not alone when I say that I want to know what the next version of Sense will feel like. Well, those of us who like to tinker on any HTC Dream can download a cooked Eclair Hero 2.1 ROM from xda-developers.
Although Alpha and without Wi-Fi or Google Sync, I think I might have to give this one a shot. I’ve got some video to shoot first, but I’ll let you know when I have something to share.

Also I just ran android 2.0 on the mytouch just to try it out. everything is smooth and works. just the camera doesn't work but you know how those xda developers are. they are going to fix it. another reason why root is awesome and why the mytouch/g1 still packs a punch. people will be using the mytouch/g1 until like a 1 ghz phone comes out.
