Google Phone and the “real” Android
at long last: the real Android
They may have simply retreated into the ocean in the past – no trace left behind – but the most recent wave of Google Phone rumors just keeps growing and growing. If the hype goes beyond this week’s news, I think it will be difficult to write them off any longer.
Gizmodo is reporting that “a trusted source who’s seen it with their own eyes” has solid info on the Google Phone, adding that prototypes will soon be all over the Google campus sporting huge LCDs and either Android version Flan or beyond. Giardoni perhaps?
What the source threw in at the end is perhaps most important – that it will not feature the Android we’re accustomed to, but the real Android. If that means a VoIP droid with a Snapdragon, count me in!

The rumor that makes the most sense to me is that the “real Google Phone” will not be a cell phone at all. It will be a VOIP phone working off of WiFi or perhaps the DTV white space. Google has been lobbying for access to the DTV white space for years and maybe they are making progress. In either case, this will not likely be a real cell phone replacement for many years.
Is this phone going to be similar to the HTC HD2, because if it has the same hardware specs, I am defo getting this phone for xmas in th UK. Does anyone know when this phone maybe fully released? I want in now!!! Cant wait.
HTC DRAGON!!!!!!
And what would the price be in pounds?
I'd gladly jump to this. I think they might really change the game if this thing plays out the way it's going.
I'm hoping that the “real” android is not that much different from the android that we are all used to, because I think that that would kind of suck in terms of what have we been familiarizing ourselves with since androids launch? Also will their android make the “old” android obsolete? All in all though, I am still excited about this…
