G1 getting 2.0 this month?

Well, it’s not much to go on but there is a little bit of buzz on Twitter that the G1 will see and update by the end of January. Most people are assuming this update will bring Android 2.x to the old beater. I’m taking this for what it is. We’ll see.

That piece of crap isn't getting 2.0. It can't handle it.

  2. platinumrug says:

LoLWuT?? There's been numerous videos of the G1 (while rooted and on roms) being able to handle 2.0. Come on now.

  3. platinumrug says:

I just hope this means that 2.x is coming out faster for the android phones for Sprint, my Hero needs 2.x NOA lol.

  4. atara says:

Umm yea those were roms for a rooted G1 which were OPTIMIZED to run on it.

  5. platinumrug says:

And your point is? I'm sure someone that knows what they're doing will get the same quality with an actual 2.x upgrade the same as someone who has an optimized ROM. May not be EXACTLY the same but it wouldn't be as crappy as you say it is.

  6. atara says:

The phone is crap and it doesn't need 2.0 get over it.

  7. platinumrug says:

Who cares if you think the phone is crap, it's obviously not as crap as you say if people keep buying and enjoying the phone. Get over your selfish opinion of the phone being crap and your OPINION on it not deserving it. Nice try though.

  8. atara says:

People buy it? No. Not anymore. Because there are better phones now.

  9. platinumrug says:

Actually they still do, I know a lot of people that are on t-mobile and have bought the G1, despite their being “better” phones, and they love their device. So yeah.

  10. atara says:

They need to catch up on technology.

  11. platinumrug says:

Or maybe they can choose devices that they know will be good for them? Hmm, sounds like one hell of a concept.

  12. atara says:

Whatever you say. Go play with your retarded friends' G1s. I'm done wasting
    my time with ya

  13. platinumrug says:

Lol I don't give a shit about the G1 to be honest, but trying to make your opinion on the device fact is just idiotic at best. LOL @ your hatred of an inanimate object.

Seeing official updates for phones is always heart warming. However… I'm not really all that excited since I was running 2.0 on my G1 last week (this week is 1.6).
