AudioManager
Looking at the home screen below, you’ll see several useful apps and widgets. At the top is Google’s Power Control, which gives you one-tap toggling for Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, sync, and brightness. Starting from the left on the next row down, you’ll see the Free Memory widget (gratis – by CoCoNuts), stock GMail, stock Alarm, and the free SilentMode OnOff widget by CurveFish. Below that are some folders, and at the bottom sits the freebie AudioManager Widget by Smart Android Apps, LLC. (cont.)

The download contains two widgets: large and small. What you see above is the large version.

Tapping either widget on the home screen launches an app, giving you individual volume controls for alarm, music, alerts, ringer, voice, and the global system setting:

If you’re tired of hitting the volume too late to catch a burst of media sound effects and end up lowering the ringer instead, this app is for you. Universal silencer widgets, like the one I mentioned at the top of this page, still work. This one is indispensable in my book.
