What are your predictions?

With the launch of the long awaited, long fabled, much anticipated Google phone aka Nexus one less than 2 days away does anyone have any earth shattering predictions? I have a couple I’d like to throw out there to get us through the lull. Prediction 1.) The Nexus one will not live up to the hype that people have set for it. It will be crazy quick and have a great form factor, but it won’t be that phone that the android community has longed for. Prediction 2.) The mytouch 3G and G1 will get modified versions of android 2.1. Prediction 3.) The nexus one will not sell as well as Google wants it to and more people will wait to buy instead of rushing the door on release day. Prediction 4.) We will all be waiting with great anticipation on Tuesday to see what Google announces and it will leave us all with a lot to talk about for the rest of the week. So, I leave you with these predictions and I hope to hear from you all soon. Do you have any predictions for the upcoming announcement day? If so, please leave a comment in the comment section. Take care! Oh! By the way, I’m already saving my money to get mine.

i really wish it was as good as expected. still a great phone and fast, but the 3g is having problems which isnt typical of an HTC device as of late. hopefully they can fix the 3g so i can enjoy the nexus one

N1 is not much faster than the Droid with 2.1 (for those that are running 2.1 on the Droid). I think next summer we will see some awesome phones (maybe sooner with that sneak peak of that hot Moto super thin huge screen and HDMI out). But yeah my next phone will be running Andy with a fold out or roll out screen. Really though the software has not even caught up with the hardware on the Droid.

I predict that Google is going to find some way to sell the Nexus with a data plan for much less than the $70/month minimum that the iPhone costs. If they cannot significantly undercut that price point, then this product launch is going to be a huge failure for Google. Mainstream consumer demand is for a lower monthly price, not for fancier features.

i think the nexus one is the shit .. no matter what anyway says i think it will do good im buy n one! lol and as far as android 2.1 they will just give the u.s the mytouch G2 its already out in other countries so it the iphone on t-mobile! all you have to do is visit the t-mobile website in any other county! an iphone on verizon NOOOOO!!! a mytouch G2 and a iphone on t-mobile!!! YEAAAAAAAAAA :D hahahaha fuk verizon anyway they think there S**T DNT STINK!

I'm with you on the prediction that the N1 will not live up to the hype that the Android community has set up. Honestly, we would only have ourselves to blame for that because Google themselves never hyped this device, we did...I think it will be a slightly faster Droid but not that much different from it. And yes, the G1 and MT3G will most likely get ROMS-a-plenty of the N1's version of 2.1 (I'm already running a ROM with bits, or should I say a bunch of Eclair in it.) Ultimately I believe that the phone will set a new standard for Android in the long run but with that rumored price point of $500+, I don't see it happening that fast...I think people learned their lesson about throwing down wads of cash for a phone cough*iPhone*cough only to be burned later on by a newer, shinier and faster version...
