A quick look at the MoDaCo Alpha 10 Desire ROM
MoDaCo gives us N1 users Sense with this Desire ROM. Click here for instructions on how to get here from a stock Nexus One. Carlos already did a video review of Alpha 6, but I wanted to take the newer version for a spin and continue to dust off of my movie makin’ gear. Despite the warnings from MoDaCo that most probably will not want to use this as their production ROM, it is my ROM of choice right now. Fantastic! I point out a few features that are not exclusive to the ROM, but maybe some of you are curious about standard 2.1 as well. Video after the break.

Hi, I also love the HTC Sense UI on my Nexus One.
I did notice, though, that the flash doesn't work — I think the settings are cool and intuitive, but I haven't had any luck getting the flash to work within the camera app.
I did download the N1 Torch app for rooted users, and that works great — but you can't turn on the torch and switch to the camera — the light will go out until you return to the Torch app.
Right you are. I didn't test that. Maybe in the next release.
A few things still aren’t working in Alpha 10:
Camera Flash
Trackball LED for notifications (even though it was stated this issue was resolved)
Navigation isn’t 100% working… the voice guidance isn’t what it should be. Can’t explain it any better than that.
Other than that, the ROM is excellent, very stable, and it’s my daily ROM. Highly recommended. I haven’t had any voice recognition problems like John had…
any pro with your nexsus 1????????????
hey great seeing the sense ui from the htc desire on your n1, I just wanted to point out that the moto droid is not far behind n1 in getting that rom just check it out on http://alldroid.org/viewtopic.php?f=253&t=2787. This on droid is a little laggy still but from the looks of things they will have it up and ready for release pretty soon. The flashplayer 10 is working just go on over to the site for anyone who is interested.DROID!!!
I am now getting connection errors in GMail (all the time – I use the other client) and some quirky behavior when flicking around the browser.
Hi.. everything went smooth but when I flash the Desire Alpha 14 rom .zip .. the installation aborts ?? i tried it twice… any suggestions why it aborts installation ..?? i did the wipe before installing to …
The only thing I can think of is that you may have applied the wrong superboot. Did you check the version first? You could always try another ROM like CyanogenMod just to see if the issue is with the ROM or something else.
Hi John thanks for the help.. .. I realized when I downloaded the rom my mac unzipped the file and I compressed it again and that removed the signature on the rom..thats why it didn't install..silly me. :-(. so I downloaded the rom again and it worked.. thanks for the wonderful tutorial video :-) im loving the sense UI
