Pictured above is the SHW-M100S, Samsung’s latest Android device to be announced. Now don’t get too excited yet, it’s not all roses and rainbows. Here’s the solid lookin’ specs we know so far:
Android 2.1
3.7-inch WVGA AMOLED screen
WiFi (n)
800 MHz processor
720p video recording
5-megapixel camera
DivX support
3.5mm headphone jack
TV tuner
What could possibly go wrong here? Android 2.1, AMOLED screen, and wireless n!?! Oh yeah, Touchwiz. I know some people out there don’t mind it; I am certainly not one of them. Sure there are home replacements, but for me personally, they just don’t beat vanilla Android. Then there’s the fact that it’s only coming out on SK Telecom in South Korea… so far. The best thing about the M100S is that Samsung is putting out better quality hardware with later builds of Android, something we could really use here in the US. Not saying this is the device to do that, but we’ll definitely be keeping an eye out.
