Native Apps2SD coming soon

Leave it to your resident Android nerds here at DroidDog to give you just the kind of news you’d want to hear on a weekend. Ever since the release of Android, the ability to store apps on your SD card has been mysteriously missing. As usual, rooted users have known this joy for quite some time now. Alberto Vildosola recently found the following on the Android Issue Tracker:

Apologies, but I’m not permitted to disclose scheduling information – suffice to say
it’s coming soon :)

Sorry for being vague, and thank you for your continued patience – I sincerely
appreciate it.

Happy friday :)

There’s been talk going down that FroYo will include some much awaited features like Flash support as early as late May / early June. Could it also include native app storage on your SD card? I’m hoping so. Maybe now that the cat is kinda out of the bag, more info will start to pop up.

I hope this comes to all versions of Android. I'm a little tired of hearing about segregated updates. My phone may not be equal to the new Incredible, but simple functionalities like this one should be fair game for all android users.

If the Evo is coming with 2.1, does that mean we won't see 2.2 on it for 8 more months? I won't chance rooting my new Evo, but I would very much like Flash and sd card apps.

I really hope they implement this on android 2.2 It is badly needed.

I hope this comes soon
