TELUS snags the Motorola Backflip
Our neighbours to the north can now pick up a shiny, new, Android device; The Motorola Backflip. It joins the Milestone (DROID) and Hero on TELUS. The TELUS version is dressed in all black. It comes with Android 1.5 (when will they learn?) and it topped off with MOTOBLUR.
MobileSyrup got their hands on one, and were nice enough to post a quick video of the device. I have to say, I like the black version.

I wonder you’ll be able to install applications from “Unknown Sources”. If you recall, this option was not available on the AT&T version. What do you think of the Backflip?

Actually Breon, you can install third party .apk.
You just have to do it through DOS or a terminal and the Android SDK.
Not a simple feat for the non-tech savvy but still doable.
I see. Still kind of sucks. When I beta test apps, I usually get them via email or a link. The SDK method is going to make it harder for the average Joe to participate in betas.
Thanks for the info!
