Will Galaxy S be crippled?

Recent FCC filings for Samsung’s spec monster, the Galaxy S, reveal that the handset will be headed for AT&T, and it looks like people aren’t too happy about it. Considering the way Ma Bell has handled Android thus far, basically de-Googling it, it’s likely that the Galaxy S will be far more beneficial to AT&T than AT&T will be to the phone. Nevertheless, the Hummingbird GPU is an exciting addition to the other promising specs, which pretty much line up with other flagship Androids of the generation. 3D graphics – especially those found in games – should be absolutely stunning and blazing fast. I’m not sure I’m ready to sign on with AT&T, but I sure would like to try this device on for size.

I've been on AT&T for several years now and I'm moving when the EVO comes out. They crippled the Backflip and the Aero and that's frankly just the way AT&T does things. I have no doubt they will do the same to the Galaxy. :(

Guess I'm the only one here that's on AT&T and loves android :( Oh well, as long as AT&T doesn't deflower this wonderful device I will do everything in my power to obtain it. However, I do feel a device this brilliant deserves to be on all carriers (along with the BEAUTIFUL HTC Incredible)

Well, if can be rooted and set free, I might consider going to the Death Star. I'm underwhelmed with T-Mo's handsets and their inability to announce anything other than warmed over network upgrade news and rehashed handsets.

No worries, I am sure there'll be an unlocked TMO compatible Euro-version available on the internet.

This device is headed to all four US carriers. AT&T is just the first to pass FCC. Don't worry. Sammy is going big here.

I just keep thinking of how little work it would take for them to bring this to T-Mobile as well. Just change the 3G band! And with T-Mobile's HSPDA+, it'll be faster than the EVO 4G! Please, Sammy, show Magenta the love!

yeah.. sucks it's on ATT.. I will not switch.. never.. I will stick with the Nexus until.. well something better comes out..
