Acer eBook reader at Computex

While browsing the Qualcomm booth at Computex in Taipei, Engadget discovered a very new, very unfinished Acer tablet powered by a Qualcomm MSM7227 and Android. The device was apparently there to showcase its processor, but responsiveness and agility weren’t exactly this gadget’s strong points. Again, this was an early demo, if not a concept design. Engadget compares the device to a blown up iPhone 4G.

With ebook publishers seeking compatibility amongst readers, this explosion of options is a bit bewildering for the average consumer. Without a universal format, how many e-readers can the market take?

Anyone notice in the pictures featured on engadget's page that in the applications list on the device it had a app for a "dialer"? what is that about? lol but it does look like it could be a interesting device if they got the bugs worked out. I'm really really wanting a proper Android Tablet, and don't really think the archos 7 qualifies a decent tablet. (proper meaning, Capacitive screen, google support so it can have the "market", good processor, and a nice level of ram/rom. Not to mention stuff that would be nice like webcam, kickstand, HDMI port, Super Amoled, etc.)
