Altek Leo’s 14MP Android cam comes with phone functions

The Altek Leo is a beast of a camera phone: With 14MP, Xenon flash, and 3X optical zoom, it’s on a different playing field altogether than other phones with cameras. And it’s just been confirmed that this device runs Android. It’s sporting a lightly customized version of 2.1 in the video below, but Altek is working on Froyo for launch. Sadly, this phone probably isn’t headed for the States, but hopefully it signals a a shift in focus for some OEMs that will ripple across the pond in the next year or so.

The Leo will be available in China and possibly Southeast Asia near the end of the year for $499.

Yeah, seriously, I don't get why people still physically hold their plastic bricks to their heads to communicate with people. It's inefficient use of your limbs and it makes you look awkward and rather foolish trying to prop it against your shoulder when you need to use both hands.
