Android hack attack: All HTC Androids rooted?

This week has been huge for Android hackers, and not just because there are so many devices on the scene just waiting to be rooted. In a thread over at Android Spin forums, well respected hacker Eugene373 announced that the method I used for rooting my myTouch Slide works on *all* HTC Androids. The cooker has successfully used the method on an Aria and added a few tips to the original tutorial. For example, pulling the SD card allows devices to be seen more reliably via ADB in recovery mode.

In other, non-HTC-related hacking news, the Sony Ericsson XPERIA X10 has been rooted, as has the Samsung Galaxy S.

It seems like no Android is safe from being rooted these days, and it makes me wonder what kind of cult status could be achieved by a high end device that shipped with a simple option to allow root access.
