Droid X gets pegged, July 19th
Who here likes rumored release dates?! Yay! The boys over at Droid Life have been ALL over this device so it should come as no surprise that they end up being the ones who land the first rumored release date. They say that the lucky day will be July 19th. On the 18th, Verizon staff is being told to get all their DROID signage out and to be ready for something to go down the next day. We’ll know for sure next week if the 19th is right, but I’m guessing it is. Just in case you need a refresher on the specs of the beast:
4.3″ 854×480 screen; OMAP 3630 processor with PowerVR SGX530 GPU; 8 MP camera with dual LED flash; HD Video @ 720p; front-facing camera; HDMI-out; Android 2.1 OS
So yeah, if you haven’t already ordered an Incredible, I’d be all over this. If you were thinking you just couldn’t wait for this so maybe you’ll order the Incredible anyway, just remember that due to shortages, Incredible orders won’t be recieved until July 12th. That’s only a week difference. Just think about it.

My experiance with my Droid X has been the worst I have ever had with a cell phone. I picked it up @ 11:00 am in the morning 7/14/2010. It is now 7/17/2010 7:11 pm. I still have no 3G service to my phone that they told me would take aprox. 1 hr. to happen. So I can not transfer any of my contacts that I use daily for my business. I spent about 3 hrs waiting at the store the first, day went home an spent another 4 hrs on the phone and my computer. Finally they told me it sounded like the phone was defective and told me to be at home on monday 7/17/2010 to sign for the new one they were sending. After missing a day of work with no phone showing up, my wife called and they told her there are no phones to send. They elevated it to a supervisor when I was originally told they would send me a new one and assured me they had one in stock to send me. I have been lied to so many times about this issue that I can't even beleive it. Verizon has left such a bad taste in my mouth that I am switching carriers no matter what. Also they are going to charge me a restock fee for a defective phone when I return it they told me today. I give the Droid x and Verizon a big thumbs down. And I know they don't care because Im just one customer. So much for customer care....I dont think it even exists any more.
