myTouch 3G will see 2.2 soon, not 2.1

Thanks once again to David over at TMoNews for dropping the leaks we all want to hear. “Coming soon” to all MT3Gs – including slide – is Android 2.2, Froyo. With enhanced Faves functionality, a soft Genius button, and full Exchange support, your old touchscreen is about to get a facelift. Not to mention, Froyo’s killer optimizations, the practical benefits of which are clear in the Quadrant Standard benchmarking app.

Is this the big June 19th surprize? Considering that the buzz around that date comes from a MT3GS roadmap, methinks there’s a good chance…

I think t-mobile stores are opening early because the update for the original mytouch 3g AND the mytouch slide cannot be done OTA, so the stores are preparing for the flurry of customers that are wanting the update by opening up early, i cant WAIT!! froyo on my phone.. i thought it would never happen, but yet again, magenta amazes me

Do you know if live wallpapers will work on myTouch 3G since the myTouch Slide doesn't have live wallpaper support?
