Samsung Galaxy S coming to AT&T as Captivate
AT&T has finally announced a Super Android for their network in the coming months. After numerous false starts and a habit of locking down what most would consider to be Android feature phones in comparison, Ma Bell actually has a monster on deck.
While pricing, availability, and AT&T’s level of OS meddling have not been disclosed, we know that Captivate features a 4″ Super AMOLED display, 1GHz Hummingbird processor, 5MP cam with HD video capture, 16GB of internal storage with support for 32GB of SD space, 3D surround sound and Android 2.1. Samsung’s Media Hub will come preloaded, and will give users access to video and e-book content. The device’s UI will be the “new and improved” TouchWiz, and brings new tools like Samsung’s Social Hub. We’ll bring you more on this device as soon as possible.
Compare to the I9000:

Ok.. i am confused.. I thought it was going to go to T-mobile.. I am leaving T-mobile.. with all the sucky phones they have coming out.
This is just AT&T's incarnation of the Galaxy S. It will be turning up with other names on at least Sprint and T-Mobile.
