U.S. Cellular snags the Galaxy S

This phone is certainly making the rounds.  As Dustin reported, the Galaxy S will be launching on several carriers, in one form or another.  Today, U.S. Cellular announced their version.  Ironically¹ named “Galaxy S”.

“The Samsung Galaxy S™ smartphone coming soon to U.S. Cellular customers is a premium Android device equipped with Samsung’s Galaxy S class of features,” said Omar Khan, chief strategy officer for Samsung Mobile. “The Galaxy S™ series of smartphones offers users superior features, including a 1 GHz Samsung Hummingbird Application Processor, Samsung’s Super AMOLED touch screen technology, along with entertainment, messaging and social networking applications.”

The spec sheet pretty much reads like every other announcement;  1GHz Hummingbird processor, 5MP AF cam, 720p HD video recording, Wireless-N, Bluetooth 3.0.  What’s not mentioned is what size microSD card will be included and if U.S. Cellular will add any super sweet apps (cough-bloatware-cough).  They have plenty of time to load it up, as the phone drops this fall.  No pricing info.
