Android could run $35 tablet

Engineers from the Indian Institute of Science in Bangalore and four other institutions have co-developed a tablet with 2GB of memory (or storage; the distinction is unclear) and USB. As the newscaster in the video below states, “There’s no word yet on what kind of software will be used in the device. This often significantly drives up the cost.” Check the notification bar on screen while the news man talks about the need for cheap software.

The Human Resources Development Ministry in Indian believes that continued R&D (along with potential government subsidies for students) will lead to the tablets being sold for $20 or less.

This tablet is expected to sell at $10. Starting prices are $35. However, I doubt the build quality and endurance. Lets see how this fares against standard tablets. It can make for a cheap ebook reader.

Well I really doubt you could build electronics using sweatshop kids. :P

Problem is, how many sweatshop kids, does it take, its only cheap because of how and where they make it.AndrewGadgetnorth.info

Thats Crazy LOL Some day im sure

That glimpse from 0:22 to 0:29 looked extremely similar to Android - I'm pretty pumped to check this out depending on how it's specced. If it does indeed have 2GB of RAM and a corresponding processor I'm pumped =D
