Froyo bomb for VZW?

According to a Verizon insider that tipped Android Spin, HTC and Motorola will be pushing 2.2 from August 6th to the 15th, hitting the DROID, DROID X, and Incredible when all is said and done. This also lends credence to the buzz that DROID 2 will ship with Froyo intact.

The tipster went on to say that this information was not some internal rumor, but a stated fact.

Oh, for those that missed it, there’s a purported DROID X screen cap floating around with the version 2.2 included.

I'm with you, Cammy. John Walton's "Verizon insider" is an interesting euphemism for his ass -- the true source of this "scoop." Every blogger wannabe has a worthless, completely made-up source and posts with certainty. Their 100% failure rates never seem to phase them one bit from making new proclamations.

seriously i don't wanna hear one more update about when I am or am not getting froyo on my Droid x, every day it's like 4 articals about rumors and facts. I heard back in the day ( a few months ago) that my nexus one was getting froyo after the google conference and waited a few weeks and nothing, a month nothing... I finally sold it. By the time I get Froyo Gingerbread will have a whole nother set of rumors.... arg.
