It has been a long time coming, but HTC has finally released the kernel source for a couple of their new devices. The big one we’ve been waiting for is the HTC EVO 4G. Success. So, at this point you may be wondering what this means to you and your EVO. If you are into rooting and hacking, it means a lot. Developers use these kind of things to better craft ROMs, hacks, mods… you name it. The EVO already has a huge following and I can guarantee it’s about to explode. On a slightly similar note, there is a fund going towards getting Cyanogen an EVO, which I believe may have already succeeded. You EVO owners are definitely in for a treat. You can grab the kernel here.
