T-Mobile HSPA+ website with “Vanguard” codename found in source code

HSPA+ Device

T-Mobile has made a new website for those seaking information on the new upcoming HSPA+ device. There isn’t much to take away from the site other than the new device will be able to get data speeds up to 14.4 Mbps. Now this isn’t the theoretical max that T-Mobiles towers are capable of giving an HSPA+ device (21 Mbps) it is still faster than what we got right now and thats always a good thing.

But I took the liberty of checking out the source code of the website and found mention of the code name “Vanguard” twice. Could this device possibly be the HTC Vanguard/Vision/G1 Blaze? I sure hope so. Now if HTC can just give it to me straight and Senseless then we can all be happy.

It is not the only way they differentiate their product. Hardware design and battery life are key components too. Also, the could just add apps that only work on their devices (i.e. Friend Stream). I am always so disappointed when I see an amazing new handset come then see it's bolt on UI. As I have said before, just give me a choice of Stock Android or the custom UI. I for sure would pick stock every time, and probably would have purchased one or tow more devices this year. This way everyone wins.

i got excited about the blaze until i realized most likely it will have that garbage sense/expresso crap loaded on it.

Of course. Don't get me wrong. I want my update and would trade in any UI for them.In a perfect world manufacturers would offer two upgrade paths:1- Vanilla UI with cutting edge firmwares2- Custom UI for the mainstream crowd. But of course that isn't possible and isn't a good business move.

However, the website is hosted on Tmobile's Sidekick server!! Maybe that means its the new Sidekick Android phone!! :)J/K

I just want the pure Android experince, not some proprietary UI from a manufacturer that slows down the system. I would rather have HTC come out with a way that if you bought one of their devices you could download the sense componets and framework and install them to your device. That way if you like have more space for tha apps you want to download from the market you don't have to put up with the bloatware from HTC.Of course this is all my opinion and everyone is entitled to one. There is also usually the option (if it is a very popular device) that Cyanogen will make a rom for the device and you wouldn't have to worry about any proprietary UI.

Not to sound like an ass, but all this Sense UI bashing from the tech community is unwarranted. As a manufacturer after hardware there is nothing you can do to differentiate your product versus a competitor's product unless it's the UI.It's a business move. Do you want to keep getting kick ass hardware form the manufacturer? Well you'll have to live with the UIs it's the only way they keep business coming in.
