Vibrant: miscellaneous features and apps

This week, I will be posting video responses to your Vibrant questions and requests as well as some review material, and while planning those things out in my mind, I realized that the phone has same neat features that I might not get to in those posts. While none of these little perks are likely to make or break your buying decision, they are worth mentioning. If nothing else, they’ll give those of you with a Vibrant on order some things to look forward to. Things like a very slick music player, gradient brightness control from the home screen, and live television.

how do you apply the skins i have the weather and toggle widget now what?

John,Thanks for the heads up pn Weather & Toggle Widget!!

the vibrant is HSPA+ capable! I have the phone and it's the best thing since sliced bread! You cant get a better display on any phone out right now! YOUR RIGHT ABOUT ONE THING IT IS IN NEED OF ADVERTISEMENT! The only way I found out was a sales person from Tmobile owned one and showed it to me. I had the htc hd2 and got the vibrant the next day after i played with the one in tmobile.

How do you change the default cons in the "tray"?

I have tried it and I like it but now I don't know if I want to wait for a newer phone. Maybe a HSPA+ phone.

the reason there was nothing out about it was because of 2 things. 1) the vibrant wasnt scheduled to come out till the 21st but they pushed it up a week since stock was good (for once..lol)2) they recieved the live demo sometime on the 13th or later in most stores so the demo account probably wasnt set up for it.go in now, theres mutliple signs about it, demo displays, video walls, the whole 9 yards. its an exellent phone, and while Tmobile couldnt advertise their way out of a paper bag, the phone sells itself the moment you touch it.

I like to know where did you get the wallpaper that show in the video, its kinda cool.

John keep up the great work! Thanks! I have the Vibrant and did not know about the brightness thing! So thanks agian!

Thanks John. Always appreciate all that you can share.

Aditionally, I am wondering if I should wait. I know that if I wait, then something will come out that would make me wish that I had waited some more. I am spoiled with my Memoir with its 8MP and xenon flash. I do take many pictures, but they are not so great and I remember my 5MP camera of a few years ago and they did just fine. So, any pointers if I want an Android and want to stay with Tmobile?

The Vibrant is the best phone that no one knows about. I was in a Tmobile store on the 15th and there was nothing about it. They had a driver license demo available but no accounts set up so I couldn't use most features.I listen to the TWIT and Buzz podcasts and not a word. I watched a tv show with a "Galaxy S coming soon". Why? Are they embarassed? Are they afraid that if they put it out there too much they would run out because they didn't build too many?I have been thinking of buying one but I wonder if it will go out of style as fast as my Memoir.Comment Please.Thanks.

"Weather & Toggle Widget" with Paper Weather Icons addon.

"Weather & Toggle Widget" with Paper Weather Icons addon.

Thanks, I'll try to get that into another vid.

Definitely a strong point for Vibrant, and a weak point for so many other Androids!

SOrry for the delay in getting back to you. It's the "Weather & Toggle Widget" with Paper Weather Icons addon.

What is that cool crumpled paper weather and clock widget? Did you get it in the market

yeah whats that watch widget or skin called?

does it have the voice to text feature that other androids devices have??

I think its important to note that the music player comes with a pretty good equalizer which was my pot of gold because even though other android phones have crisp sounding music players i feel they lack bass. at least this was my experience with the my touch slide.

I'm really liking the new TouchWiz 3.0 Notification bar. It pretty much eliminates the need for the Power widget and Music widget, and is almost always accessible without having to leave your current app. I think it's my favorite feature so far.

What's the news in Sprint Epic for similar phone? IS it on it's way soon?

great video, i wonder what other tips and tricks there are out there we dont know about TouchWiz 3.0

what clock widget is that

This phone is a winner. Had it for days and still learning new stuff. This phone has great potential use as well as use right now.

What is the clock widget you have installed? It looks really slick and want to try it on my Vibrant

I am blown away by my new vibrant. I used to have an HD2 and this phone is so much better. The speed, customization, android all are far superior. I just wonder how it stacks up battery wise to other devices in its class. I use my phone pretty hard all day with feeds and widgets updating often. I get about a days use out of the battery which is fine because I can charge it every night while I sleep. I'm lovin it.

Thanks for pointing all this out John! Also theres one more thing with the Music Player, there is a widget on the lock screen that you drag down with all the music controls and it shows the album art, just like the one in the notification bar.

hey John is that a beautiful widget skin for you weather and time?

Nice. I'm happy I Gotten the Vibrant. Since I'm on a family plan I wasn't able to get the Nexus One with an upgrade price. So I got the Vibrant and I'm happy with it. :). Keep Up the good work :D Hopefully More Videos Of This Phone
