Yahoo! lands in the Android Market

yahoo!Yesterday, Yahoo! dropped their Mail and Messenger applications and a search widget for Android a well as an HTML5 mail and news “experience” for iPhone/iPod Touch. The company is aiming for “a seamless, integrated experience across all screens,” and has optimized the Android programs for three devices: the Motorola DROID, HTC Incredible, and Google’s Nexus One. Android 2.0 is prerequisite.

Messenger and Mail have integrated features and also include Yahoo! emoticons, access to the Yahoo! address book as well as the phone’s, rich text formatting, and push notifications.

yes... i surely do and all im ever going to use

Thanks to all the Yahoo! supporters!!! You are keeping me employed!!! I would hope there are lots of people that continue to use Yahoo! services because without competition Google becomes another Monopoly in the tech industry and will dictate what you get from them instead of having to accommodate the customer and find ways to make us happy! I admittedly use Google and Yahoo! for various things but support Open technology which Google has always been more like Apple with the "black box" strategies. In my opinion the next evolution of all this internet and wireless technology or rather the symbiosis of it... is to make everything Open and seamless for future integration so we can avoid the plateau of proprietary technologies or systems causing the halt of technology growth both to the user/consumer and the engineer/architech.
