I don't think you should include apps that require ROOT in your top 10. It should be apps that are accessible by everyone.

  2. Northstar 69 says:

I agree with Bla. It should only include APPS that do not require rooting your device. Not all of us are rooted.

    • Bruuce says:

IMO his Top10 should be whatever he uses the most, regardless of how he uses them. If they are ‘for root users only’ or ‘not in the market’ I still want to know about them. It might even show others why its useful to root your phone.
I suppose in an effort to make everyone happy he could have made it his Top12. That way the unwashed masses still get their 10.

Carlos Graves is the hacks and mods editor, so of course he is going to include apps that require root access!

    Carlos,
quick tip for you about “Barcode Scanner”:
You can share items (like apps, contacts, scanned item) by pressing [Menu]. It will create a QR code on your screen for others to scan. I use this feature all the time to trade apps and contacts with friends.

Here is my Top10: (excluding some already mentioned by Carlos)
    1) Gestures – quickest way to call people. (also install ‘Not Call Log’ to return to home screen after call ends)
    2) Places – Slick interface for google maps to quickly find nearby restauants, attractions, gas stations, etc.
    3) Air Control lite – Its the game I keep going back to. soo much fun!
    4) DolphinHD – Best browser I’ve used hands down.
    5) Astro File Manager – A must have if you really use your SD card.
    6) Titanium Backup – Allows me to return to a previous version of an app if I don’t like the update. (requires root)
    7) Handcent SMS – A lot like Chomp. Automatically resizes 5MP camera pics for easy sending.
    8) Flixter Movies – One stop shop for box office. Watch trailers, read reviews, get showtimes, buy tickets, etc.
    9) Bump – Trade apps, contacts, and pics with people. Even works between Droid and iPhone.
    10) Chrome to Phone – Send your current website on your PC to your phone over the air. (Froyo only) Works with Firefox too, just search for the addon ‘Fox to Phone’
