DROID Incredible owners to see Froyo on Wednesday?
Hey there, Dinc lovers, I’m sure the last thing you want to hear at this point is an inaccurate rumor about the pending release of Android 2.2 for your slick little gadget, but Mashable writer Ben Parr says that sources have revealed Froyo’s launch date to the social networking powerhouse along with this tidbit of information: Verizon workers are already running 2.2 on their Incredibles. Have any of you heard something similar? If so, it can’t be long before the rest of you see the bump.
If the buzz is correct, Incredibles will join the ranks of EVO, DROID, and N1 in the Froyo fold in just three days. DROID X should see the update in early September.

I'm not keeping my hopes up…
Yes! My best friend works as a post purchase support rep for Verizon. All of his android devices are running Froyo. ( incredible, x, Droid2, galaxy s, and even a few he won't show me because they have yet to be named.) part of his job is to make sure the ota is a good solid platform. He like everyone else says the day is sooner than later. He knows the day but is as tight lipped as the rest. However, he has been running the same build for about 2 months now and tells me its the one that will roll out. I'm tired of the rumors, but this may be it. My guess is not Wednesday but within 2 weeks.
My moto droid updated yesterday, so far so good.

So… All 14 people who actually HAVE an Incredible will get an update… woo friggin hoo…
shouldn’t be long now before someone chimes in to say that they got the OTA update but can’t prove it
Just to add another note I had no idea Froyo had Tethering capability, something I wanted to do and didn’t want to go thru all the trouble of rooting my phone ( I really have no patience). I hope tomorrow is a better day for all waiting for it.
Well here we are on the verge of Wednesday and….no additional news. Froyo is not coming. What a big surprise. I hate that I'm getting cynical, but Froyo will be here when it gets here. Stop listening to all the rumors and bs about “this comes from an insider @ Big Red.” I wish I had waited for the X. I'll bet it will get it first… Root, here I come baby.
