Here we have an image of a confidential HTC phone running Android 2.2. The device is being referred to as an engineering prototype of the Desire HD at the Chinese forum where the image was leaked. It certainly does look similar to the EVO 4G, and the Desire HD – a.k.a., Ace – is said to be the EVO’s European counterpart.

Hmmm I am not sure about the design either but as for the hardware keys: I got the Milestone (Droid) and the Touch HD before that. Both have soft keys as well but these have Never. Ever. been a problem. They simply don't get pushed by accident. Although that may be because the Droid has a 'chin' to hold it by so it may be that the HD's soft keys are easier to touch. Then again, it never bothered me on the HD either AFAIK.
I don't like the look at all. Just seems like the ugly baby of two good looking parents (Evo 4G and Desire)..

Extremly ugly design compared to the original Desire. I liked the Desire because of the Hardware Keys you can't press by accident but this Design is just bad in my opinion.
