A new mystery LG Android handset has popped up online this weekend, targeting what appears to be the mid to low-range market. The device is rumored to be running Froyo on a 3.2 inch display, with a Qualcomm MSM7227 and 5 mega-pixel camera in tow. The Galaxy S/iPhone 3G-esque E720 clearly isn’t being geared towards high-end power users. For right now, that’s one of the glories of Android: it doesn’t need to be top of the line to sell well… for now. With devices like the Galaxy S and DROID X picking up major steam… the bar for entry level will be raised.
Not much else is known about the LG E720, but once these kind of faucets start to leak, it’s hard to turn them off.
