PSA: SMS Trojan for Android on the loose
Kaspersky Lab, a “leading developer of secure content management solutions,” has just recently announced the appearance of the first SMS Trojan virus for Android. The virus comes to you in the form of harmless media player app titled “Trojan-SMS.AndroidOS.FakePlayer.a.” The .apk, weighing in at 13kb, is said to use your device to unknowingly send SMS messages to premium rate numbers; Essentially giving away a whole lot of money. In order to avoid “Trojan-SMS.AndroidOS.FakePlayer.a,” Kaspersky is advising to be extra cautious installing apps, and be attentive to what the app is requesting from you. This isn’t the first virus to hit the Android operating system, and unfortunately, it won’t be the last. At this point, it’s not quite certain how wide-spread the trojan has become. If you have any problems with it, be sure to get the word out on how you came to install it.

I'm worried about Android, not about myself. This won't happen to me but it will happen to somebody who will blame Android instead of the fact that they downloaded something they shouldn't have.
