TweetDeck for Android leaked (UPDATES)

Check it out. After waiting, and waiting, and waiting some more, my mobile tweeting dreams are coming true. No more guessing or ultra quick teasers. A TweetDeck for Android file has been leaked (pre-beta) and there’s no turning back now. As much as I love TweetDeck and want them to have a smooth and successful launch, their product is just too good to ignore. So, I simply must run this leaked .apk, which has disappeared from the leak site.

So far, my brief experience has been excellent. Columns can be dragged left or right, like you would expect, and in true TD fashion, everything is slick, dark, and lovely. More to come…

UPDATE: Look what I found. Download this UNOFFICIAL RELEASE, which is NOT the beta, AT YOUR OWN RISK. As Iain Dodsworth, CEO of TweetDeck, said, “it’s an old build – i’d avoid it.” (Thank you, Android Central) Also remember that it’s possible that the file has been tampered with by someone other than TweetDeck. Just throwing that out there. Also, this file is for WVGA screens only!

UPDATE 2: The beta, which will work on non-WVGA displays, comes tomorrow. (Confirmed by the TweetDeck lead mobile dev.)

thats what my issue was lol

twicca can be very slow if you arent on wifi or a strong 3g connection. that's the most annoying thing about twicca. other than that, i looooove twicca. tweetdeck for android flys like no other!

Got it to work... uninstalled and reinstalled... so happy this is out there!!

thanks John! Love your site. Yall were right on it!!! lol and i saw the tweet by Tweetdeck saying it's an old build but it's working flawlessly. I hooope that add the pushed away column previews. Thanks again. I love it!

Remember that this is an old build. I don't expect it to fully represent what we'll see in the final release. This is more of a sneak peak, I'd guess. Maybe it will be exactly the same with some little fixes here and there. I have no idea.

Sorry if this seems to obvious, but I'm wondering if the people having problems sending tweets forgot to select an account icon before submitting. Could be a legitimate problem, I don't know. Works for me.

Thanks, I'll cross my fingers that it has one. I can't do without my Touiteur widget.

John, is it me or will you be disappointed that it doesn't have the column layout like the iphone and desktop? u know how you can view them from a distance and slide them across? that's the beautiful feature. however the app is blazzzzzzzzing fast. Im using it on edge. I also have quadrant bands of 2200 so maybe thats why too.

Is going to be better then twicca.

I installed it on my Incredible, the only thing I cannot do is actually send tweets from it... either in replies or as a new tweet.

hmmmm it's pretty but a bit *too in your face* not enough settings and why isn't there an option to view the panels from a distance like iphone and the desktop? that was the beauty of it and the notifications on the right... hmmmmm

as you can see in the screenshot above. I am currently using it on my HD2 which I sure looks the same as it does on your EVO. but I hear that it only looks good on WVGA screens. other screens are having some issues and tweets are being cut off at the end.

I think I'm spoiled by Twicca lol. It's well presented, but lacks so many of the great features that Twicca has; perhaps the official beta will have more features than the leaked one, but as of right now, I'd say I'll be sticking with Twicca instead of this.

FYI, it looks like this is for phones with larger screens for the most part. The feed looks gigantic on my Hero.

Not the one I'm running, no.
