Android Notifier gives phone notifications on the desktop
Android Notifier is one of those crazy simple concepts that makes so much sense that you wonder at the horror of life before it was invented. OK, maybe that’s a bit much, but if you’re the kind of person who likes notifications on your desk or laptop, I’m confident that you will at least respect the usefulness of this system, if not fall in love with it completely.
The set up requires the installation of two apps: the free AndroidNotifier.apk for your Android phone, and the desk/laptop counterpart for your Mac, Windows, or Linux computer. After that, you need to get them to speak with each other over WiFi or Bluetooth. For me, the pairing was automatic. I had my phone and computer hooked up to the same network, I installed the computer app then the Android app, and I instantly got a notification from Growl on my laptop that my EVO’s battery was at 7%. Nice!
I’ve got both apps set to start at login, so in less than five minutes, including downloads, I have phone-to-computer notifications set up for good. It just couldn’t get any easier, and the functionality is instantly practical. Options include MMS, SMS, call, voice mail, and battery notifications.

Doesnt work on my computer. Installs, but then does not open. I tried installing both the 32 bit and 64 bit versions.
