HTC T-Mobile G2 unboxing and hands on

Here she is, the successor to the G1 and the latest QWERTY-packing Android flagship, HTC’s T-Mobile G2. The phone features a Qualcomm MSM7230 processor clocked at 800MHz, 4GB ROM (reported, I see 1GB available), 512 MB RAM, GPS/aGPS and a 5MP cam with autofocus and flash. The 1,300mAh battery is a bit of a disappointment, but I haven’t had the phone long enough to know what that translated to in practical usage. The G2 runs vanilla Android version 2.2, though I’m expecting an OTA update in short order.

Stay tuned to DroidDog for more G2 coverage, as this is the just first of what I’m sure will turn out to be a series of videos.

It has Android 2.2, so I would assume as much.

Have to admit, this actually looks way sexier than I expected. I'm really excited about this phone. I definitely want to hear more about that battery though, that's one of the worst things about my G1.

Finally, an awesome vanilla Android phone, let's see how fast it gets Gingerbread

John you sly dog! Is this the Vanilla Android Flagship you were referring to as your new daily driver? I am SO JEALOUS!! So i want a run down on Battery life and picture quality and video quality and finally is it better that the 2 super androids from Sprint?

How's the camera app? Any tap-to-focus goodness or still vanilla android camera app?
