Motorola pushes Android updates back

Cliq, Cliq XT, and BackFlip owners, you may want to look away. The update timeline for Motorola Android devices located over in the Moto support forums has been changed yet again, and of course, it was for the worse. It was originally thought that with the release of the Motorola Charm on T-Mobile, the Cliq, XT, and BackFlip would be able to collectivity share in the joy of BLUR over 2.1. Now that day won’t come until late Q3, early Q4. If I had to bet, I’d do so on Q4… if at all.

I don’t even own any of those devices and I must say this leaves a real sour taste in your mouth. To all of you out there still holding on, I wish you good luck.

I have a Cliq. I used CliqAnDroid's YouTube tutorial to install 2.1. It works great and I have had no problems to speak of (sure there are bugs, but there are at least as many bugs in 1.5). Eff waiting for Motorola!

Bought a Cliq for the wife, now it belongs to my son. This phone is the reason why I will never again buy an Android phone with a skin. It is nothing less than embarrassing that this phone is still limping along with 1.5, not even able to use Google Nav, because Moto can't seem to make Blur play nicely with the phone. My guess is my son will wind up rooting the phone. Moto seems to be completely helpless in upgrading.

This is News??? Nothing like hearing about this a month after the timeline was updated. This is old news.

Fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu!

So between this getting pushed /again/, and the CLIQ/CLIQ XT being EOL'ed in October, it's probably a safe bet to expect these devices to actually get the upgrade, well, never.
