Well, of course, the Oprah Winfrey show is the perfect venue for announcing a new mobile device. Why not? (Please refrain from jokes about MOTOBLUR bloatware and Oprah — I did.) That’s exactly what Motorola did with the DEFY, an Android phone slated to launch on T-Mobile soon.
The device’s focus is squarely on being sturdy and resistent, whether it comes to scratches, water, sand, dust, etc. There are a lot of opportunities to market this as a “lifestyle gadget.” Moto’s press release also mentions a 5 MP camera, 3.7″ WVGA screen, Adobe Flash Lite, a second microphone for filtering out background noise, and streaming to DLNA devices.
If you don’t mind the infamous MOTOBLUR, and you’ve been looking for a phone to toss around in the gym, on bike trips, and during camping, keep an eye on the DEFY. Sign up with Motorola to receive updates, or just watch our blog for news.
