While Epic may be pushing hard to get the Unreal Engine 3 onto iOS devices right now, that doesn’t mean they’ve forgotten about us. Word straight from the mouth of Epic VP Mark Rein is that the Unreal Development Kit is going to be made available for developers sometime in the future. When asked about the availability of the UDK on Android, all he had to say was “…I suspect it will eventually but iOS is the priority for now.” That’s not a whole lot to go on, but it’s better than nothing.
Of course, we’ve already seen the UDK being utilized on some Tegra 2 demos, and a Tweet from Rein quasi-announced that the Engine was up and running on a Samsung Galaxy S. Essentially, we know it’s possible. Look for more information as it becomes available, but in the meantime, I think you can find some games to hold you over.
