Barnes & Noble unveils NOOKcolor (with videos)

B&N has upped the ante in the e-reader game with today’s announcement of the NOOKcolor, a full color touchscreen featuring “VividView” technology. The NOOKcolor is $249 and can be pre-ordered now from the product page at Barnes & Noble’s site. Pre-orders begin at retail B&N locations tomorrow and units will ship on November 19th.

With a 7″ full color touch screen, pinch-to-zoom, games, music, and the new Newsstand (second video below) at a $249 tag, this one will make a great upgrade from the old Nook for the holidays.

Yeah, an iPad WITHOUT as many cool functions as the ACTUAL iPad. :oP I still think the Kindle beats this device, hands down, just because of battery life and readability in strong light.

so they made an ipad. woo. doesn't that defeat the purpose of an inexpensive e-reader?
