Leaked Vibrant JI6 update is now going official

While some of you may already be enjoying all the fine things JI6 for the Samsung Vibrant has to offer (thanks to XDA), the update has finally made the graduation from leak to official. The official update is being pushed out now, and is said to include the following:

GPS fix
Media Hub
Task manager
Ability to assign ringtones with stock contacts app
Battery icon is fixed
New HD Camcorder shortcut
Voice input on Swype
Custom alarms in calendar

There’s no official timeline as to when you’ll receive the update, but as stated above, there are indeed users who have already received it. Let us know how the installation goes in the comments below.

After a few days with the update, I've noticed a MUCH LARGER drain on my battery...and with very little use. I'm running just the bare minimum apps and it's still draining my battery at a much faster rate than before the OTA update...NOT COOL

I updated with no problem. Had rooted with One Click Root by TGA_Gunnman.

ROOT users - DO NOT apply this update until you've compared notes on XDA... and do a fresh nandroid backup first. I went ahead an applied it... now I'm bricked. Guess I have to go learn ODIN now... Ugh.

Does anyone know if you rooted using One Click Lag Fix that you should unroot first?

I would take it back to stock but it kinda sucks cause i didnt know my update was coming and i was rooted lag fixed and my phone bricked when i applied it so its like if u go back to stock u never know when your gonna get the update

Got my OTA update last night :-)

Here's one hopeful Vibrant owner praying that this means T-Mobile and Samsung are finally "DONE" with 2.1, so we can get on with 2.2 already.
