Poll: are you getting Google TV?

Will Google TV be the next big thing in home entertainment like Netflix or on-demand programming, or will it be a flash in the pan? Will it stand alongside Android as an important contribution to the evolution of gadgetry, or lay next to Google Wave in the museum of doomed technology? I can’t say for sure (I’m leaning towards the former) but I’m excited to try it out for myself. I’m curious about how you Android fans are viewing the endeavor. Specifically, do you plan on being early adopters?

Both Logitech’s Revue and Sony’s Internet TV can be ordered right now. Are you taking the plunge or playing it safe? Let us know in the poll below, and share it with your not-so-savvy friends. Do they care that Google is crashing the game party? Speak up in the comments to elaborate on your vote.

Yes, you can share media, but it's on par with the DLNA integration on PS3, for example (my best comparison). I need more time with it; I don't want to discount it off hand. It works, but when you have iTunes on your lap and Apple TV hooked up to the set, you know...those other solutions don't seem so hot. If Amazon had a decent Android phone app and Google TV app, I could get over that "can't compete with iTunes" hang up.

Major issue, and for Google in general, really. I know there are a lot of people out there with DRM-free tracks, but until Goog offers users a complete, fleshed out music store solution, the ability to share amongst devices, and a better player, the Apple/Google war isn't really even happening, IMO.

I get my Logitech Revue on Saturday

Because all I really want is a cheap Netflix streamer, and AppleTV would do that for me. I guess I could always go Roku for $59 or $79 too. Oh and they are competing products, that's another reason to compare the price. I generally don't like Apple products, but if it does what I need then I don't see a problem with it.

I just bought a couple of Roku boxes, because I don't see any benefit on the GoogleTV currently. Too bad though, I was really excited about it when it was first announced.

I'm still waiting for local best buy to complete their demo station so I can play with it. :)

Got my Sony Internet Blu-ray player on Sunday from my local Bestbuy

Waiting to see how it functions in reviews and if it'll be worth the purchase.

I hope you post a video. I'm anxious to see more of it.

I am waiting for a comparative review between Boxee and Google TV.

With AppleTV being only $99, this Logitech Revue is priced way too high. I'll bet it drops to $149 or $99 by next Christmas with the Revue 2.
