Verizon Galaxy Tab coming Nov. 11 for $600 with no contract

Samsung’s Galaxy Tab
is in the middle of a very drawn out launch. We’ve had conferences, advertisements, parties, leaks, and announcements, but the dang thing has yet to be sold. Perhaps Samsung and the retailers who’ll be carrying the tablet wanted to use the time to pick a price point based on media and public reception. It seems that the reception has been exceptional, because the chosen price is very near the iPad’s.

Verizon has announced that they’ll be launching the device on November 11th, at an unsubsidized $599.99, which matches Sprint’s alleged pricing. The Android 2.2 device will come preloaded with Verizon’s V CAST media suite and the V CAST Apps store. If you need a refresher on the Tab’s hardware, take a look at Noah’s hands-on from earlier this month.

By the way, Verizon will be offering a 1 GB data plan for $20 per month to go with the device. There’s no reference to their current unlimited plan, and whether that will be an option for Samsung Tab buyers or even if it will be continued at all.
