DROID 2 Global finally announced by Verizon

Until now, the DROID 2 Global has been everywhere conceivable except anywhere near a Verizon announcement. Normally, the release cycle goes something like this: whispers > leaks > announcement > release. Verizon decided to just skip out on the announcement phase of the DROID 2 Global, and release the device.

Just this weekend, Verizon finally took a second to acknowledge the globe trotting version of the sequel to the original DROID. It wasn’t a press release or event, but at least it’s something. Just in case you didn’t know, yes it does come in blue and white, yes it’s available for $199 on a 2-year contract, and yes, it’s still listed as available online only. Thanks for the heads up Big Red.
