Plants vs. Zombies and Peggle coming soon to Android

If you didn’t already know at this point, then now you do: Gaming is coming to Android, and in a big way. Actually, let me rephrase that, gaming has already come to Android. Not only have we have had great games like Abduction!, Jewels, Robo Defense, Fruit Ninja, and Angry Birds for awhile now, but we can count on several other titles right around the corner: Zynga Poker and Cut the Rope to name a couple. So what are we missing? Total zombie shrubbery annihilation. Thanks to PopCap Games, that’s about to change.

In a recent statement from Popcap Games’ development director, Sameer Baroova, we finally get a loose date for the release of not only the wildly popular Plants vs. Zombies, but Peggle for Android as well:

“I am delighted to confirm that we are working on bringing both Peggle and Plants vs Zombies to Android in early 2011″

I know it may not be much, but from where I’m sitting, it looks like we could have one of PopCap’s main attractions in the Android Market as early as 8 weeks from now. As soon as it’s available, we’ll be sure to let you know. Before then, which would you rather see more: Bejewled, PvZ, or Peggle? Let us know in the comments below.

I vote PvZ, then Bejeweled as a close second. Let's hope they do a much better job of doing PvZ than that Chinese app does. That thing was so rough, I deleted it after 3 minutes with it.

I already have plants vs zombies on my android phone. Not bad...missing a lot o the fun stuff in the full PC version, but fun nonetheless. My wife is a big fan of the game and so i downloaded it onto both our android phones, and when the tab comes out Ill be putting it onto there. Had the game for maybe a few months now.

Plants vs. Zombies would be cool. I am still not sure what took them so long to develop for Android. Windows Phone 7 is not even out yet and they have a game for it. What gives? The fragmentation excuse is a bunch of B.S. I wonder if Microsoft floated some money their way.
