It’s not at all surprizing to see Android adoption numbers going through the roof when so many great gadgets run the OS and it’s especially interesting to break down Android awareness and lust by primary differentiators, like age and sex. That’s just what Nielsen has done with their October survey on mobile statistics, and Android green shows up quite a bit in the resulting charts.
Nielsen breaks down the current smart phones market as well as the percentage of folks looking to purchase each major mobile OS for their next device, divided by sex, age group, and current operating system ownership. It turns out that Android… (are you sitting down?) is more appealing to young men. Go figure.
