Epic 4G set to receive post Christmas update to Froyo

Well Epic owners, this has been a long time coming. Your journey isn’t over quite yet, but if some leaked screen shots of an internal memo obtained by Phone Arena are correct, December 26th is the day you should start seeing your official update to Froyo. If everything goes according to plan, build DL11 will start rolling out in phases on the 26th, and should reach all users within 4 days of launch. According to the memo, changes in DL11 include:

Upgrade of the OS from Eclair to Froyo (2.2.1)
Ability to install applications to the external memory
Improved Bluetooth device support
Bluetooth Voice Dialing
Flash Player 10.1
GPS Enhancements

If you have already updated to the leaked Froyo build DK28, don’t fret as I’m sure there will be a way to update to the latest build. If the Epic is anything like the Vibrant, Odin can fix anything. Whenever you receive the update, be sure to stop on by and let us know how it went. Oh, and other Galaxy S device owners, don’t worry, your time will come… eventually.
