Samsung to unveil Galaxy Media Player at CES

There has been talk for several months surrounding Samsung’s development of a Galaxy Media Player, and Samsung has apparently confirmed the device and will be showing it off at CES next month.

After launching the Galaxy S series of phones–which some found to be heavily influenced by the iPhone–and then the Galaxy Tab–which was without a doubt designed to compete with Apple’s iPad–it seems that Sammy wants to challenge cupertino on the mobile media player front as well. The Galaxy Media Player is essentially a T-Mobile Vibrant minus the calling capabilities, with Android 2.2, a 1GHz processor, 4″ LCD, 1200 MHz battery, and dual cameras. Wi-Fi and bluetooth are on board as well.

Pricing has not been announced, but the player will come in 8GB, 16GB, and 32GB models.

Oh yum.. I'd pick one up in an instant to use.. but i got a Zune HD already.. oh well :)

i agree i feel like zune is leaving us high and dry with apps and updates

1200 MHz is a freaking high clock rate for a battery! No seriously, it should better be mAh. I'm looking forward to seeing a serious competitor to the iPod Touch, there's just now no MP3-Player that can make up with the Apple device and it's about time some big manufacturer notices that. Make the Handset a little cheaper than the current iPod Touch and everyone who wants a good MP3-Player with a touchscreen and who's not a complete Apple fetishist is gonna buy it!

its one of the phone would be my guess or its a speaker for music.
