Video: Another Cr-48 goes in the dumpster

As clever and fun as Google’s notebook killing advertising campaign is I’m guessing that the spots, which feature the Chrome OS powered Cr-48 (see my impressions here) being methodically demolished in creative and elaborate scenarios are a bit painful for many of you to watch. Namely, those of you who signed up for the Cr-48 pilot program and still haven’t received a hamster bearing box on the doorstep.

Needless waste aside, the videos are effective in making the point that cloud storage is the way to go if you’re worried about losing data. If you’re worried about owning your data and protection from the government, there are other issues to consider. If you’re not even thinking about cloud computing, the videos are good for some quick webertainment.

And now, silence.

instead of being merciless, maybe they should send me one, Las Vegas only has 33 as of 0 minutes ago. San Francisco has like 400+

33, that is more than four times what were sent to Detroit.

Though I drink a plenty at the Google Koolaid trough, I'm pretty pissed I didn't qualify for one of the pilot units. Ah, well. Life's a b1tch and then you kill someone.

Yes, it is a bit devastating but not as much as the people who were deemed worthy by Google to get one only to sell it on eBay. I signed up because I really wanted to test it and be a part of the success of Chrome not to make a buck. I hope there is a way Google can go after those people because it was really a slap in the face to those of us who were sincere, but did not qualify.

Advertising a product by destroying it. Genius!

I agree. It also bothers me that some people have put them on eBay. How were those jerks deemed more worthy to get one than me who would really use it.
