15 Hour Battery with SetCPU

Are you a smartphone users who often dreams of an all-day battery life with constant use? If you’re reading this, most likely yes. Do most smartphones have batteries large enough to carry 12 hours of juice? Nope.

As a matter of fact, there are a lot of high end smartphones out there that boast 1700mAH and 1900mAH batteries, yet the devices themselves rarely last the entire day. In today’s video I’ll show you how you can get your rooted Android device to last upwards of 12-15 hours daily using a $1.99 application called SetCPU.

The best part of it all is that this plan allows me to have the phone overclocked when it is awake. Depending on your kernel you can push your device’s processor past 1.2GHz when the screen is on and have it underclocked and cool when the screen is off. If you decide not to overclock you can save even MORE battery life. Check out the video for more information.

Thanks for that info but its a trade off once you set your CPU to a low maximum your phone is least responsive.

Set CPU coupled with a Low Voltage or Ultra Low Voltage Kernel can really give you killer battery life.

I have the Droid X running Liberty Rom. In the Advanced tab, for Sampling Rate, it says -1. When I change it to 300,000 and press Apply, it doesn't seem to retain that setting. When I come back to the screen, it's back to -1. Any suggestions???

I use the Super Power app. It's free and I can get through a whole day on a single charge. I take my Evo off the charger around 9am, and it doesn't need to charge again until 11pm.

Does it work for Driod X? And where could I find the settings so I can set it up the same way?

No issues with my nexus s with heavy use on its battery during a full day.

Old news... thanks for bringing this to the general public though... my brand new epic lasted a total of 6 hours the on the first charge. After a few tweeks and setCPU to drop my proc to 200mhz when not in use and a custom rom (Epic Experience Froyo) with low use I got 48 hours on a charge... heavy use today I can get about 16 or more. Love the XDA community!!!
