Barnes and Noble to phase out Nook 3G?

Engadget has word that Barnes and Noble will be discontinuing their original e-ink e-reader, the Nook 3G. Once existing supply is sold out, that’ll be all she wrote. The Nook 3G, which has free lifetime data connectivity courtesy AT&T, apparently hasn’t sold nearly as well as the $50 cheaper Wi-Fi-only version of the gadget, not to mention a heck of a lot less than the super sexy NOOKcolor.

If you need to download your books and periodicals while on the move, go grab yourself a Nook 3G at B&N for $199.
